Stephanie and all--- as a rainforest fan I am entering a "portable rainforest"
in an art show this weekend. My elective class painted an umbrella green and
covered the inner and outer surfaces with leaves, vines, insects and
butterflies. Hanging on the inside are wonderful drawings of birds, insects and
animals that inhabit the rainforest. The drawing have a thin lamination. Then
we have added a papier mache frog, snake, and monkey. With this project I can
show the work of several students and it looks wonderful. We weren't concerned
with scale, so it's a real visual fantasy.

I'm excited about this entry and hope the students get some recognition, if we
do I'll let you all know. My only problem is I need a sub this Friday classes
range from 1-8th grades, and I'm the worst at leaving good plans. Any help from
anyone of you would be so appreciated!!!

Sincerely grateful and weary,
Chris Shanley
