I have a final exam that I do with my Art 3 classes that involves them
creating a color, nonobjective design based on the musical directions that
composers use to direct how music should be played. Words such as Crescendo,
glizzando,poco y pooch, etc. I have a list at school. the kids pick a word
and try to create a piece of art that describes the word. Like the composer
is trying to do with his/her directions to the musicians. I have had some
very good compositions. We use crayons and/or colored pencils to make color
an important part of this 90 minute test.
