Sculpture for blind children

At last I have an opportunity to do something thats been on my mind for
years.
I'm starting a sculpture program for blind children . I have some initial
ideas with clay, paper mache etc to deal with tactile and I should think
sound and smell would be important too. Has anyone any experience , info ,
research that would be helpful. I have no experience with this particular
group, but I do have a passion to share the pleasures of art to those less
fortunate.
