We have a unique situation in our district and at our school. It seems we
are the only school in the district who has a woodshop teacher. All the
other mid. and high schools in the area have gone high tech and dumping the
hands-on woodworking. Kent is ready to retire but it seems...or so
adminstration and district personnel says...it's hard to find a woodshop
replacement and when Kent goes, so does woodshop. The room will be taken
over by computers (LIKE we really NEED another computer lab). Kent wants to
retire at the end of this year but has decided he'll probably stay on one
more year only to keep his program continuing.

Kent doesn't know where to look for a replacement and neither do I but I
thought some of you might know of someone who would be interested in a
woodshop teacher job. Our school houses 1100 6,7,8th graders with a large
woodworking room and lots of tools/saws/equipment and it's own bathroom. It
connects to my room via a door. It also has a smaller separate room for
metalwork. The school is 30 some yrs. old and the rooms will be striped
down to the studs for remodeling in the very near future...within 2-3 yrs.
A new teacher would have the advantage of redesigning this room to their
needs.

Los Cerros is in Danville, CA...stone's toss from Walnut Creek...in
Northern CA...35-40 min. drive to San Francisco. We have little fog, lots
of warm weather, and beautiful sunshine. Kids are in the upper
socio-economic range. Many doctors, lawyers in PTA.

If you're interested, post to me at the address above/below. Toodles.....
