Mary Ann,
I like the collage and play doh idea as the other stations.

I guess I don't want scribble when I want them to trace a shape which is
underneath the tracing paper, then move it around and trace it again.

I guess I don't want one big mud circle when I want them to paint flower
centers (dots) and try petals (maybe stems) for Van Gogh sunflowers with
yellow, red, green.

I tend to remove the artwork when they get something, before they play with
the paints and make the mud ball. They paint often with the classroom
teacher, so it's not a new experience.

When we do Kline, I give them a clothespin with a sponge to paint straight
line in 3 directions. If they make a big black ball, I give them more paper
to try line.

I push the kids in the grades above to continue to refine, adjust, stretch,
learn more.
I am new to E/C.
