Re: paper cutting for Calder mobile

I want to do "Calder-like" mobiles. It's only a 20 minute
>activity, and I need something easy for my students to cut out.

I know that MY second graders would have some trouble cutting even the
posterboard weight paper...then again, I am the one with the big batch of
defective scissors! I have a ton of colorful envelopes, though. Perhaps
cutting (doubling some up, too) something like that would work...and result
in some interesting shapes if the folds accidently got included? I had
second graders "oohing" when I cut two eggs out of two pieces of paper just
held together a couple of weeks ago! Ya never know!
