I am using a wonderful book, Seeing Jazz: Artists and Writers on Jazz,as
a reference for an interdisciplinary unit I am developing on jazz and
the arts. It contains many nice reproductions of 2 and 3 dimensional
art works by a wide variety of visual artists including Mondrian,
Bearden, Matisse, and many others. It also contains photographs of Jazz
musicians as well as various literary works and essays. It is $22.95 and
published by Chronicle Books in association with the Smithsonian,
ISBN 0-8118-1732-6 for paperback. The forward is by Clark Terry and
afterword by Milt Hilton.
