My favorite passage is the new entrance to Joyner Library at my alma
mater East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. The web-site is
http://www.lib.ecu.edu/ where you can catch a glimpse of it. Grand
columns mark the entrance to a brick courtyard which leads you to the
front door of the very modern library building. The tall classic
columns are the only reference to the previous building which held
Joyner library. It reminds me of Ancient Roman Ruins standing without
a building. As you walk through the spaces between the columns,
sensors triggers a short burst of music to chime. The sound varies
when one person walks through compared to 5-6. I love watching people
walk through unsuspectedly and see their reaction when the music
chimes. They always look around and most will go through a couple
more times just to hear it before continuing on their way. It's odd
how we take for granted something as simple as an entrance- which
reminds me of Christo's curtains and wrappings.
Those nearby in NC go by and see this!
