One of my most successful classroom management was daily grades. I posted
them in a chart (a Xeroxed gradebook sheet) for them to see and compare with
their peers which they do relentlessly in all ways. They were given 25
points each for 1)getting started with the daily warm up 2) following
directions 3)staying on task and 4) clean up. It takes a minute to do at
the end of the period. It is immediate feedback as well as a dipstick for
their grades and if they do those four things well the work takes care of
itself. I was most pleased with the results.
