Know this is off the subject and don't know if this is true. Would someone
want to check this out for the rest of us? Gail

Hi all, here's a tip for you if you haven't already heard.....
One Y2K pitfall will obviously affect your VCR.
You won't be able to use the programmed recording feature on most VCR's,
because it is "day of week" and date reliant.
Do not discard your VCR in the year 2000, however. Since the year you're
recording doesn't matter, set the year to 1972. All days of the week
will
match the date for 2000 and subsequent years, and should allow you to
continue to use the recording features.
Please pass this on, because you know the manufacturer's won't share
this information. They will want you to buy a new one that is "Y2K
compliant
