I am looking for alternative scheduling for elementary school art. I'm really
tired of children complaining that they haven't time to finish. I'm really
tired of projects spreading out for many weeks, because we have to clean up
and get out of the room so another class can come in.

I have a few classroom teachers who would be willing to try something
different and a principal who is not afraid to be different. Last week one of
my fourth grades was spread out all over the school, really into what they
were doing. Doing a great job. Some were finishing their linoleum printing
projects in the room. All on task, all working hard and quality stuff. Came
the end of the hour. I hated to have them stop, they hated to stop, but the
fifth grade was waiting at the door, it's teacher wanting and needing his
prep period.

I have people willing to try something else, but we haven't been able to find
another model.

We're looking for ideas.

If you have any, please help.
