A good Mother's Day lesson for Kgn. using Picasso's Hands with Bouquet. He
did it for Valentine's Day so it's good for that, too.
The children trace their own hands on manila or brown paper. Cut them out
and paste just the wrists to a piece of paper so that the fingers can be
placed 3-D around a collage bunch of flowers. The children put strips of
green paper through the fingers for stems and then using scraps of
wallpaper, tissue paper, fadeless paper, etc., the children create the
flowers - flat or 3-D. Mothers love this one and classroom teachers are
impressed, too when the children return to the room talking about Picasso.
