Just an idea....

I started with an idea a yr. ago which has been working wonders for me in
so many unexpected ways. I'd like to share it with you...especially with
student teachers/beginning teachers. I started taking photos of
EVERYTHING....
1. projects in progress
2. kids doing projects (and teacher/students also)
3. finished projects
4. me (and kids) doing projects together
5. my room and all the hanging artwork
6. all library/office displays I've mounted and hung of student work
7. when I attend any workshops, I take pictures of project ideas
8. when I attend art meetings in others' artrooms, I take pictures
of their walls and projects. Sometimes I see so much, I
forget the ideas.

The pictures of all of my projects, kids, room, (1-5 on my list) go into a
cheap special picture album. I keep it updated pretty well. I have shared
this album with teacher friends who immediately started one of their own, I
shared it with my principal who shared it with all the admin. which in turn
went to the superintendent who shared it with the school board who took it
to the county office. (I got it back before it went any further!).

The last two items on the list goes into another picture album. These are
my "idea" pages with pictures of samples. I can't tell you how many times
I've thumbed through these pages for quick ideas and been rewarded.

This would be a great source for student teachers to have for an interview.
It's also a great idea book for anyone teaching.
