Music for the classroom

Using music in the art classroom is also something in which we are very
interested. We love "Echos of the Incas" and "Andean Legacy" for South
American topics, "Song of Amazonia" for the rainforest, "Tribal Voices" for
Native American cutlure, and "Dawn Until Dusk" for Aboriginal Australia
(didgeridoo). We would love to find more music, especially from Asia and
Russia. Any ideas?
We have also recently put together a lesson for a workshop in Michigan on the
art of Romare Bearden and how his work related to Jazz. This is a great way to
have kids study another fine art form. It might be possible (with a teacher's
guidance) to select a contemporary song or musical style and have students
create their own artwork inspired by it.
