I REALLY LIKE WHAT CATHY WROTE. I'M GOING TO GIVE IT A TRY.

HERES ONE OF MY "TRICKS". I GO THROUGH ALL THE SUGGESTIONS GIVEN AND STILL,
EVERY NOW AND THEN A STUDENT JUST CAN'T SEE BEYOND SO............... I SAY...
ARE YOU REALLY SURE YOU WANT TO THROW THIS AWAY? WELL, IF YOU WERE GOING TO
THROW IT AWAY ANYWAY THEN YOU WOULDN'T MIND IF I KEPT IT DREW ON IT. SO IT'S
REALLY MIND NOW? YOU REALLY DON'T WANT IT. THEN I PROCEED TO MAKE SOMETHING
REALLY UNUSUAL OUT OF IT. I TRY TO MAKE IT A REAL "WOW". THEY ALMOST ALWAYS
ASK TO HAVE IT BACK. BUT I RESTATE THAT IT IS MINE, THAT THEY GAVE IT TO ME.
THE NEXT TIME THEY HAVE A PROBLEM THEY ASK FOR MY INPUT AND NOT TO THROW IT
AWAY. I THEN TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO TEACH THE VALUE OF AN INFORMAL CRITQUE
AND SHARING WITH OTHER STUDENTS AS WELL AS MYSELF AS RESOURCES FOR IDEAS WHEN
STUMPED.

HOPE THIS HELPS A BIT. HAVE FUN AT ALL TIMES,
NANCY
