Since we were to paint faces on our puppets today, I had students first
look in mirror and practice drawing faces with charcoal on newsprint. They
really enjoyed this, so since you asked about drawing ideas, thought you
might like to try this. If you don't have mirrors, they can have drawing
partners and take turns posing and drawing. Don't expect them to take more
than a few minutes to complete. Kindergarten works fast fast fast. If you
need to extend lesson, have them use color markers to fill in the
background with favorite objects. They can interview one another if doing
it the partner way. Johnny draws Tom and asks Tom what are his favorit
toys, etc, which Johnny places around his portrait of Tom...Sincerely, Diane
