Dear Artsednet,

I am in need of some personal help, and hate throwing this out to the group,
but you are the best source to use for my problem. I am an elementary art
teacher in Connecticut. This is my third year teaching, and I really haven't
had to research art programs for students because of the level I teach. My
daughter is a sophomore at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pa. She selected
the school for its wonderful foreign language department. However, she took
one art course and that was the end of her french future. She has decided to
transfer and attend a large university. She did not really have too much
time to research prospects, but she did get applications into University of
Vermont, University of Massachusetts, and Wesleyan University. She has been
accepted at both UVM & UMASS. She hasn't heard from Wesleyan yet. I really
wanted her to apply to RISD, but she feels alittle overwhelmed at changing
majors, and having very little art experience. My question to the group is,
does anyone have any information about either of these schools and their art
programs? I feel I should have answers for her, but I know nothing about
either of them. Could any of you help me out there? We would both appreciate
any input. You can email me directly at Lucy

Thanks for listening,
Lucy Good
