I've just renovated Arts Wire's SpiderSchool's public Web site at
http://www.artswire.org/spiderschool. My goal was to create a "learning
Web site." The renovation is by no means complete and I am seeking
feedback on order to further refine and extend the site . . . visitors and
comments welcome.

The Web site houses the Web companion to a print manual Arts Wire has
recently published entitled:

"BUILDING ARTS
AUDIENCES AND COMMUNITIES ON THE WEB"
(see http://www.artswire.org/about_artswire/rtfm.html for details about the
print publication)

Developed specifically for use by arts organizations, the manual and Web
companion address the unique needs of
non-profits, as well as identifying potential opportunities for them on the
web. Topics covered
include planning and organizing your website; identifying target audiences;
basic and advanced
HTML resources; web design; web marketing techniques; promotional tactics
and evaluation.
Detailed narrative and instructions are supported by "critical browsing"
exercises, lists of specific
arts sites on the web that illustrate the topics discussed.

In addition to information on planning, designing and implementing cultural
web sites, SpiderSchool
includes information on finding arts sites using search engines, virtual
libraries, and filter sites. It also
features a section on Online Fundraising and links to art sites that range
from arts education to
exhibitions.
