Sue-
Thanks for the info on your block schedule. I would like the 75 min. classes
very much. Is art required for all of your students?
I too am frustrated by the way the arts are scheduled. I would love to be on
a regular team where art could be a "real" subject be integrated and infused
with the other subject areas. To my mind, it seems that the team concept has
isolated the arts more than anything that has ever occurred in the middle
school. I have been a big supporter of the middle school concept, but I am no
longer so sure that the trade off has been worth it. Prior to the
establishment of teams in our school, it was much easier for me to work with
the grade level teachers and an English teacher and I shared students for a
semester at a time. If anyone has any innovative ideas, for scheduling at the
middle school level, please share !
