Dear Mark,
Greetings from a Ct native! I usually mount student artwork on large
construction paper with staples also and find it doesn't krinkle the paper
like white glue. The staples are (to me) hardly noticeable. There is a type
of glue called Gonicoll, available through Sax catalogue, which remains tacky
almost forever. It enables you to hang artwork on almost any surface with
just a bead of it at the top and bottom of the mounting paper. It does not
damage the wall/paint and really holds well (experiment a bit with the
necessary amount for the weight you're hanging). Maybe this will help with
hanging artwork in the halls in the future? Good luck!
