Hi Mark. I just came from our first school art show in the district
(each school puts on one and has work from every child). The clever
idea that she used was to take the artist's face from the coloring book
(just a line drawing) and extended it to his/her waist and put it onto
foam core board and sat the artist in chairs around a table. There were
about 8 artists and each wore a name tag (hello, my name is Vincent van
Gogh). The artists were seated around a table called the starving
artist table which contained pottery food made by the 5th graders. It
was very clever.
She also had balloons all over.
Anyway, good luck. I usually cut out the artists names that I have
taught over the year and put them on banners and hang them from the
ceiling. Parents appreciate knowing the artists that we study.

Have fun.
p.s. you should go to the New England Art Ed. Conf. next Nov. It's
pretty good.
