Suzette,
I have found a couplke of MFA programs that are held over the summer.
The Milton Avery School at Bard College is an interdisplinary type
progam : visual artists, writers, filmakers, musicians are all apart of
this program. It is set up to have dialogue and critiques amongst the
different disiplines as well as having artists from NYC as visiting
artists...it is a four year program.
The Maryland Institute, College of Art has a MFA summer program, with
its attention directed towards the art educator. This will be its third
or fourth summer, and it has become one of the strongest graduate
schools at MICA.
I believe there is a program, fairly new, in Philadelphia..however, I
cannot remember the school.
There is also a program in MAine. It is for independent study
throughout most of the year and then you meet for a couple of weeks in
the winter and then in the summer. I don't know about you but I can do
that without payng for it.
These are all programs in Fine Arts....not Art Education.
If anyone knows the two programs I am mentioning..but cannot recall the
school, please let us know.
Good Luck
