My school district has mandated that schools have to administer an arts
assessment as part of standards and accountability. My fourth graders
are supposed to create a commercial to sell a fictious product named
"Zing", a nutricious health food snack aimed for ages 25-40. As part of
the commercial, they are to design a logo.
If there's one area in which I feel inept, its commercial art. How do
you get 4th graders to grasp the abstract concepts involved with selling
Anyone have any great tips or know of resources regarding logo designs
and how to teach this stuff to this age? I've been postponing this
assessment as long as I can - I'm SO "excited" about doing it. Any help
or advice will be appreciated.
