Deat Artist: Yes, our county supports both an art and music curriculum
specialist (supervisors). Our county has 26,000+ students and we support
some 90 art staff at the elementary, middle and high levels. The job
requires at minimum a masters with supervisory requirements by the
state. Supervisors are responsible for the following: Designing
essential curriculum, 1-12, resource guides, assess curriculum, review
textbooks, video, and computer software, design new art rooms for new
schools, equipment both new and repalcement, interviews new applicants,
budgets for entire system, staff development activities, in-service,
department chairpersons meetings, interpret curriculum to public, manages
restricted projects, observes all new art staff, visits other staff,
attends state department meetings, and designs all-county shows and
programs.

This seems large, however, it has maintained our art program with
high community visability for twenty-five years. Hope thi helps with
your project. Carroll
