I think I may have missed something, but it appears a discussion is going
on about various uses and misuses of the Mona Lisa. A favorite of mine, of
which I have only one copy, was an ad for some type of spagetti sauce. It
had 2 views of the Mona Lisa. The first one appeared quite accurate, except
she was holding a jar of sauce and the picture was labeled "regular". The
second was a grossly overweight Mona Lisa, also holding a jar, and it was
labeled "chunky". I like to bring it out and show students in a Graphic
Design class when I give them an assignment to create an new ad for an
existing product that somehow incorporates a famous work of art.
