[teacherartexchange] making a year in review slide show

Hello teachers,

I am the yearbook teacher and now that we are done with yearbook I want the students to put together a slide show set to music that we can sell for fundraiser at the end of the year. I'm fine putting a powerpoint together but have no idea how to set it to music. Does anyone know what program I would use for this and how I would put them onto DVD's.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
