RE:[teacherartexchange] Second Graders Learn Copyright Lessons the Hard Way

I agree with everything that has been said on this issue. However, maybe the
fact that second graders were able to copy his work is the real issue here.
As an artist, am I really going to be threatened by second graders copying
my work? Granted, it is a learning opportunity and with everything we come
across, there is always more to be learned from a situation. I cannot help
feel though; Kessler's dogs and cats are childlike. Don't get me wrong here
(even though you are free to do so), copyright law is a reality and why not
teach kids the in and out of it. Seriously here folks, except for his
patriotic pictures (capital buildings), his work has the simplicity of
children's work. (I like the second grader's work more).
