I do this as well Patty. It goes a long way in building a student's
confidence as well. As you say you sought this student out. It's the extra effort that
the kids value. You can generally see it on their faces. I think certificate
and ribbons are nice, but I'd lke to believe that this kind of thing goes
further and makes a deeper impression.
