We did negative drawings one year in fluorescent - I think I used a bicycle
with the kids -

Do you have mat board scraps? They could paint designs on some shapes and
then assemble - a little bas relief with the black light (takes me back a
little - okay a lot)....

Subject: [teacherartexchange] Blacklight Project

Hi all-

Speaking of art shows...mine is in 3 weeks…and I could use some input for a
quick 5th grade project idea.

I had a 10x10 black tent at my art show last year - with black lights
inside. I displayed 2nd and 3rd grade projects that were created with
fluorescent paint. I know it’s “gimmicky” but the kids loved it – and have
been asking about it all year.

This year, my 2nd graders made Gyotaku fish prints using fluorescent paint –
but I want to include another fluorescent project so the tent is full. Any
thoughts? I am looking for a quick 2 period (40 min.) project for my 5th
graders using fluorescent tempera. It could be fish-related or not.

Any ideas would be fabulous!
