Re: [teacherartexchange] Holocaust Remembrance Day is Thursday, May 5, 2005

Date: Wed Apr 27 2005 - 22:20:53 PDT

Hi- it isn't a unit but the poetry and illustrations from I Never Saw
Another Butterfly can make a meaningful holocaust lesson...especially if you can
combine it with the work of.Friedl Dicker Brandeis. For those of you in New
York, on May 1, a dear lady and friend (Marion Lazan) is having a documentary
aired on PBS about her life and experiences. It is called Marion's Triumph and
narrated by Debra Messing of Will and Grace. Don't miss it. It is being
aired on different dates all over the country. Additionally, she spends a great
deal of time visiting schools and talking to children. For those of you in
Chicago area, she is there now and will be in upstate New York next week. LRPG
