[teacherartexchange] to continue teaching or not---and Reviews of US Schools site?

I am an art Educator.(in my 3rd year age 32) I am stressed out and it is affecting my well being in a serious way. In 2000, I went back to school as a post-bacc for Art Ed
thinking I was going to make a difference. That ART MATTERS that it can
help children. I enjoy teaching art. However things have not been
satisfactory in my life as an art teacher for the following reasons--

1. the no child left behind act puts financial pressures on districts
to
either cut the arts or to give specialists TOOO MANY CLASSES and EXTRA
DUTIES---up to 11 classes a day with no time to use the toilet and NO
PLANNING TIME.

2. Due to the above it has been difficult to find a job at all, let
alone
one that appreciated their art teacher and treated them like a valuable
educator and not an ART ROBOT meant to decorate halls and give
"regualr"
teachers a break. 3. Since post-baccs are not eligible for grants etc
for
becoming a teacher I had to take out more loans on top of my already
hefty
undergrad amounts. Now they total nearly 60,000 and I can not afford to
pay EVEN the intrest of 400 USD/month.

4. Since I could not find a suitable post in the US---even after hiring
job hunters and registering in several states, applying to hundreds of
posts and flying cross country---I had to look abroad. Abroad began to
be
the GREAT HOPE. But the only post I could get was at one of the lowest
paying schools in the EU and it has been a true struggle as the
exchange
rate is now 3 to 1 in their favor.

5. I am disenchanted with teaching but I can't imagine doing anything
else.

6. I do not qualify for loan forgiveness due to the wacky regulations
i.e.--when I took out the loans and the type.

7. Art matters but is not valued by the general public. Teaching
matters
but is not valued by the general public or the people in power. Tell me
again why I chose to teach art? The children and their art. Art HAS
HEART.
But what if the stress of teaching it hurts mine? ------? What to do?

Is there a site that reviews US schools made for teachers so we can find out if it is an ok place to work for before going there?

does anyone know about Oak Harbor school district in WA state...I applied for a post there.
