A personal portfolio is probably something that all of us should keep and
maintain. My school system is using a very lengthy rubric to evaluate teacher
performance. I believe it was designed as a tool for merit pay down the
road. There is no way a supervisor can observe six pages worth of criteria in
one classroom visit. The personal portfolio backs up all of the things we do
that they do not observe.
    I'm up for evaluation this year. Only a few weeks till the end and I'm
waiting! My personal portfolio is ready but still under construction! It
will be the first time that I have had one to present to an administrator. It
took HOURS!! Hope it will be worth it! Carolyn in VA
