Does anyone have a favorite outdoor project they would like to share?
We get a sunny day now and then, and I would love to just grab the
students and head out kind of spur of the moment.
My elementary school kids love to find textures outside. Bring tissue paper
and chalk or crayons and let them run free on the playground and collect a
variety of texture drawings. I break up the class into teams and have a captain
in charge of a folder. The kids put their finished rubbings in the folder so
they don't fly away. Back in the classroom, the students create texture
collages, or use the papers to make a scene, animal, face. They also guess from
where the rubbings were taken.
