RE: Getting outside

Date: Wed Apr 28 2004 - 21:42:04 PDT

One thing my students enjoy on a sunny day (when it is not windy) is to
place a sketchbook or drawing board underneath flowers or plants in our
garden and trace the shadow shapes. There are all sorts of things you
can do after that...color the negative space, fill it with pattern, get
out the watercolors, cut and paste, shade from dark to light in the
positive shape or negative space, etc. etc. etc.
