Helen Frankenthaler made a fabulous painting from a Manet still life; it had a fish in it. She was very influenced by him. I saw this in a gorgeous little book entitled something like MOUNTAINS AND SEA; you might try google-ing... Artists re interpret work of artists to whom they feel _connected_ in some way...an interesting topic for students. If you are interested I can send more exact information from home.
