RE: Tough Times in Wisconsin!

Date: Tue Apr 27 2004 - 17:23:13 PDT

Write articles about success stories, life changing stories in your
schools. Tell parents, current and former students, faculty, etc. to
write to you to share stories of ways that art has effected their
life/changed their life. There are a zillion stories out there. We all
have them. We need to ALL start publishing those life changing stories
in local papers, magazines, etc. I am making that a goal of mine next
year for professional development. That workshop on advocacy in Denver
truly changed my take on advocacy. We have to get our stories out.
Just telling people why art is important isn't going to do it. We need
the words of those whose lives have been changed for the better due to
art to be heard. Sound the trumpet!
