Denver Conference Presentations

Date: Sat Apr 10 2004 - 06:08:38 PDT

My presentation "Peace by Piece; a Japan Connection" will be on Monday, April
19th at 4:00-5:00. I visualize speaking to an empty room, as I have a
feeling most leave for home by that time. But, iIf you're still around, please join
me. I have written a book of lesson plans and information which I will make
available for anyone wanting interesting and engaging projects for K-5
(although they will work for older, as well.) Hopefully, I will also have these 18
lesson plans with rubrics and information pertinent to teaching about Japanese
culture through art available on CD. I will also explain how EASY it is for
you, too, to receive a $20,000 trip to Japan through The Fulbright Memorial

Also, I am participating in a "Roundtable" with art teachers from different
regions of the country. My good friend, Debi West, from Georgia, y'all, is
coodinating this. Each presenter is sharing a tip or lesson. I'm sharing my
"Never Fail Napkin Design" project. Everyone is invited to make a sample at my
table! The kids always BEG me for this engaging, easy-as-pie, highly
successful lesson, suitable for K-12. This presentation is on Friday at 10:00a.m.
