Re: What was I thinking!

My fifth graders are finishing up a project called "when is a box more
than a box", or "retablos", their choice, in paper mache. We started
working on it the beginning of MARCH! They had to build a box or a
retablo, and alter the shape of it to resemble something else. Very
much like the "When is a chair more than a chair" project. I love the
construction and painting part....the taping is such a drag, but if you
don't tape off the cardboard it warps when it gets wet. Then there is
the fact that each kid has made such large things! I can't wait to show
you all what they've made. So imaginative. My room has been cramped
since March, but we're having fun. At the same time we've done this,
another class has been doing their sewing project (stuffed animals in
3rd grade...awesome.), and 2nd grade made a mural. Sixth grade was
working in metals for the past 5 weeks, now switching to clay. What a many supplies!!!!!
Who said they must be crazy.....I MUST BE CRAZY!! I'm exhausted. This
week we had two 5 hour field trips for our Houston Public Sculpture
tour, AND my mom was in the hospital and I'm the only child in
town.....CALGON take me away.....
