Hi there-I was thinking about you yesterday. I started having computer
problems today, too. Mine is more with my printer, but I have a kid who is a
computer whiz who couldn't figure it out. What a pain. He thinks I need a
new printer-yeah, right. I hope you get things back the way you want them.
Our daughter's wedding was lovely and we had a great time.Coming back
to work was hard. We have about 36 days left, I think. June 6 is last day
for kids. I know what you mean about keeping them interested.
Thanks for Oodles! I don't have any of them and I will look forward to it.
That was not necessary, but is appreciated. Time to go home. Have a good one
and keep in touch. L.

Hi, Linda...I've had lots of computer problems for sometime now...and it has
gotten severe again in the last couple of weeks...and even worse this week.
I had to "wipe out" everything and re-install everything...so I lost of a
lot of stuff. I backed up as much as I could...but you know you never get
it all back like it was.
And to top it off...they did not even solve the problem...
It has taken my nearly a year to convince them that the problem is inside
the CPU...so now a technician will be coming to install a new motherboard...
And I'm without sound totally on the computer...they've given me a website
and a file to download...who knows what problems I'll have doing it. I just
now got the internet back...and I still have other software and programs to
I wanted you to be on the lookout for a package...put it in the mail
yesterday...it's your NB papers and the "Oodles" CDs...all four of them. I
didn't know if you had any of them...so I sent them all.
I've done some good work since I've been off. My neighbors are moving and
we bought a bedroom suite from them. We had an office in the house which
has become a collection area for "everything", it seems...well, I cleaned
all of that room out and turned it into a bedroom. So...with everything I
took out, I made THREE piles...one to keep, one to throw away, and one for a
yard sale. And now...I still have to do my taxes...yuck!
I bought some books at Minneapolis and I would like to go through them and
create some neat lessons to finish out the year....something to really "grab
the kids" and keep them interested. You know how it's going to be the next
20 days...that's what we have left.
At NAEA, our "Oodles" prestentation went over good...but not as good as it
has been in the past. Met some of the people on ArtsEdNet... But the "silk
painting workshop" I did, turned out great! They really seemed to love it!
Inspired me to do another silk painting with these Art 1 students...heaven
knows, what kind of mess they'll make.
I went to a good presentation on "Altered Books"...my students are really
enjoying working on these...at least most of them are. Some aren't
interested in working on anything.
Also, went to a good presentation on AP...which I can use in my IB class
next year. I needed that as a refresher.
Went to Wilmington to visit my son and his wife...bought some African masks,
a sculpture, and a wooden vase...I want to do a wall in my classroom on "Art
from Other Cultures". I want to put everything on a piece of painted
plywood and then see if the custodian will nail it to the cinderblock
wall...high up enough that the students can't "steal" the items. I have a
few things I've collected. Someone stole my Oaxacan sculpture..."ticked me
off"! I have a mola, Amate Bark Painting, several masks, and a couple of
other items. But I would love to have more!
Just wanted you to be on lookout for mail...
