Sometimes having pieces near together with different glazes can cause
some "fuming" of the color from where the different colors are near each
other. I remember this from long ago in my high fire days. I can't
remember exactly which ones could cause problems, but I think it was
copper next to something else. Maybe that might explain your weird
burgandy fiasco!
