NPR / PBS Petition

First Published June, 2000/ March, 2003

This was really started as an e-mail petition by some University of Colorado students at least as far back as 1995. However, it got out of control and could never be recalled. It has undergone almost annual re-writes by the unscrupulous who enjoy praying on the gullible. The inherent problem with Internet petitions and pleas for help on the Internet is this: They can be started but it's impossible to stop them. Consequently, the University of Colorado was inundated with e-mail. They still have inquiries to this day. Here is the UC statement on it: University of Colorado NPR Petition.

Well, it is now 2000 and another version has popped up. This one was forwarded to me by Nylgia Callaway and it is shown below. DO NOT FORWARD THIS PETITION as it is absolutely pointless and will just keep circulating unless you try to stop it. Inform anyone who sends it to you that this is a fraud.

March, 2003 (just to show you how long these things can live on, compare this to the 2000 version):

   "On NPR's Morning Edition last week, Nina Totenberg said that if the Supreme Court supports Congress, it is in effect the end of the National Public Radio ...
