Pulverized and shattered pieces that look like a bomb fell on them when
you open the kiln almost always indicate moisture that was still in the
bottoms. Next time, try putting them atop a kiln while it is firing
when you think they are about dry. That will dry them out the rest of
the way. BUT...don't do it too soon, or you'll get a stress crack!
