I pulled pics offline and made a slide show in kidpix. Perhaps what you saw
was someone who had a program like imagegrabber. With image grabber you can
copy anything on the screen and save it as a pict file without pulling it
into another program. Then you could easily make a powerpoint or other kind
of slideshow presentation. I agree for me, the most anoying part is having
to edit work before I can use it.
