Question about Mexican bark painting

Does anyone know any resources to find out more about Mexican bark painting?
  I saw it done on crumpled up paper bags...with 6th graders and looked
fabulous. I would like to do this with a 3/4th grade class for May 5th
(Cinco de Mayo). I wanted to find out a little on the history behind it.
