allright...do they have only 1.5 hours to complete the assignment too?
i've tried having them choose an element and design a poster for a
classroom...they could go for collage or painting...or both...they could
have examples in real life,...

One year my Intro to Art class made an accordion book, with a theme,
each page emphasized an element of design, they could paint, draw,
collage, whatever medium they wanted. On the back side of the accordion
book they typed and printed the word and definition. They produced some
very original, beautiful books.

Subject: student teacher needs help with elements of art
Hi Everyone,
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. I just started my
placement
in high school and I have to teach the elements of art, (line, shape,
value,
texture, space color, form) to the 9th grade class. I have one class
period,
1 1/2 hours, for each lesson. That includes instruction and working
time.
Seems like a such a short time for something so important! Any and
all
help with lesson plan ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Colette
