First and foremost...speak Portuguese...not spanish. Brazil is very
international and you will hear many languages but Portuguese tongue spoken

We were also advised to stay away from the favelas...this was years ago.
When I was there the we were also advised to watch our sign language...such
as the OK sign here has a significantly different meaning there to put it
When we were there we stayed with families...we were advised to bring a gift
of thanks for the family...at that time Scotch was a hot item. But we also
