Dennis,
How do you use the CD's?
One of my resoursceful colleagues gave me a box of glazed tiles. I had my K-5ers make mono prints with them. We smear finger paint on them; draw a design in the smeared paint and print them.

  8th graders will definitely like the idea of "destruction." I have them sand AOL cds to do monotypes on. They'd rather create dust than draw.
