I personally prefer Art Goddess to Itinerant Teacher...<g> I have been in two schools the past three years, each year my "other" school has been different, middle school one year, elementary the other two. I finally like the "other" school I am in. For me the most difficult thing is that I do a full-time job in my main school....I put in many many hours...far more than the full-time staff, yet I am not full time and have to have other responsibilities at a second school. I am the only art teacher at my main school and at my "other" school, which is smaller, I work with another teacher.

Weird story that has to do with scheduling. But...to find the positive....I do like working with another teacher. I learn a lot that way. It can be lonely being the only art teacher in a building and not having that team support that the rest of the staff constantly take advantage of.

I was doing a ton of extra work for my other school and it was really getting to me. I had a talk with our school social worker and she gave me some wonderful advice. She said that I should not be doing extra work for the other school (I was bringing over tons of supplies, hauling clay back and forth, etc.). She made a wonderful point..that if my "other" school, did not support the art program in the way I was accustomed to, then I should just go with that, working with the supplies that were there. Once I accepted this, my life has become much more simple.

Hope this helps some...not meant to be a vent....am way past that...hehe! happy tuesday!
