Here is something from Coin World. This was from an article about giving the
artist of the coins credit for their design.

In some cases apparently the engraver
is given credit. Another source said that the Glenna Goodacre dollar was
being
dropped - what! She did such a beautiful job portraying Sagewawa.
"The U.S. Mint's lack of candor about the design process used for the 2001
State quarter dollars is disturbing. It's reluctance to recognize the
contributions of the person who offered the design concept and the artist who
rendered it into a coinable design smells of bureaucratic arrogance and
government disdain."
And we wonder why schools don;t consider us valuable - starts with our
goverment.
