If you are flying to BWI airport (which is on the south side of Balt. and
only about 30 miles from downtown DC) and your destination is DC you don't
have to spend $30 - $40 on cab fare. There is a new DC. Metro bus that
runs between BWI airport and the Greenbelt Metro (subway) station (which
is on the northeast side of metropolitan Wash DC.) for only
$2 (that's right $2 !!). It is Bus # B30 and it leaves every 30 min. from
in front of the British Air arrival area (lower level/baggage). Once you
get to Greenbelt Metro station you now have access to the entire Wash. DC
Metro system to take you anywhere downtown.

PS. Baltimore has great museums and places to see too. !!
